Honeywell Glowfly™ Product Launch Takes Best of Category

June 16, 2010 – Nelson Schmidt Inc., a leading full-service marketing communications agency has been awarded a top prize in the Business Marketing Association’s B2 Awards. The awards program is an international competition that recognizes excellence in business-to-business marketing and communications. Nelson Schmidt won Best of Category in the Promotional & Incentive Marketing category, Channel Partner division, for its new product launch campaign for Honeywell International’s Glowfly™ Universal Hot Surface Igniter.

The 2010 B2 judging panel was made up exclusively of senior-level business marketers from leading corporations including Motorola, CareerBuilder, Siemens Corporation, FedEx, Emerson, Tellabs and Cisco Systems. Criteria for judging included strategy, solutions and, most importantly, results.

Nelson Schmidt’s campaign theme was based on the classic imagery of a glowfly captured in a glass jar on a summer evening. The effort was unveiled via dimensional mailers with samples and supporting literature. Distributors were also given co-op advertising materials and a variety of showroom POS materials including window clings and 3-D countertop displays and danglers. The new product proved to be as hot as its name implied with initial sales to date five times the original goal.
